A Night at the BLOscars (TM)

Personally, I would don any of these lovely dresses in a second to accept my Bloscars (Bloscars, ha! This is the kind of thing I dream up when I can't sleep). But sadly I am knackered so you will have to put up with a grey woollen skirt and my green holey (or 'pointelle', as Penny Dreadful calls it (just kidding PD!!)) jumper. And a belt around my waist. I was very happy to note that belts worn over jumpers with skirts were popular in the forties, according to the book I have been reading (well actually now read as in, finished; see your right, 'on my nightstand'). But I digress.
On Thursday, the very lovely Amy from Blighty Boutique gave me with this:
Then on Friday, the equally lovely Land Girl 1980 passed me this:
And if that wasn't enough to make my sizeable head even more inflated, the just as lovely Samantha at corsets, crafts and cupcakes gave me this:
That was a very ego boosting three days, I can tell you!
So I need to fulfill the criteria of my 'acceptance speech'. Now remember, I am wearing one of the above dresses and have a golden, errrr.....keyboard! in my hand.
'When I was a little girl, growing up in the shadow of Tower Bridge, I used to dream of being a writer. And now years later, in a sense, I have fulfilled that dream (I just don't get paid for it!) I have always been inspired by the tales of daysgoneby, told by my lovely family, of which I have much! My mum is one of five sisters and one brother (poor him, huh?), and my pop is one of three brothers and three sisters (much more balanced!). They are all supporting me here tonight, give them a wave! Sadly two of those dearest to me, my great uncle Tommy and Grandad, are no longer with us, and I miss them every day. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and think 'make today count', because they would have, and that way I can carry them with me everywhere, everyday.
So thank you to the lovelies who passed me these awards, and I will now pass on the blog love to:
Dial V for Vintage, because she is an ace at adjusting vintage clothing, and I love the name of, and pictures on, her blog.
Porcelina's World, because her blog is a lovely mix of house, home, fashion and events in her local area.
SuzySewing, as she is like a little sewing demon (or is that angel??), new to sewing but completely unfazed by challenges such as, oh you know, knocking up a corset in a couple of hours!
A Sip of Sarsarparilla, as she is always sharing her lovely vintage clothes with us, and I love to hear about what is going on in snowy Minesota.
And finally,
Crinoline Robot. When I posted about the charity shop brooch on Saturday, I knew that Mim would know what age it was roughly. She is like a little-neverending-source-of-all-things-vintage.
You can pick whichever award you would like, or all three, or none, if you want to, you are very deserving of them.
And that concludes my Night at the Bloscars (TM Lady Cherry if it takes off you heard it here first okay I haven't actually TM'd it, that would be sad, but you know what I'm getting at), I hope you have enjoyed it! Toodleloo! x
